About the Authors of Saving Tax on your Investment Property
Julia Hartman
Julia is one of Australia’s most recognised authorities on tax. In 1992 she founded BAN TACS Accountants Pty Ltd, which by 2000 had moved from her home to commercial premises at Maroochydore and Ningi. BAN TACS continues to expand and now boasts six offices throughout Australia’s east coast.
To balance her career and caring for her young son, Julia practised from home. The change from preparing tax returns for small to medium businesses when she worked in accounting firms to preparing mainly individual returns in her own practice presented a very sharp learning curve. This is why her approach is based on extensive research with references to actual legislation and rulings. She also gives credit to the NTAA ’s (National Taxation and Accountants Association) seminars and support.
Over the last 10 years she has written many booklets and newsletters helping the average taxpayer to obtain the information they need in a way that is relevant to them. Many of her booklets and newsletters are available on this web-site under Freebies. Julia is also a regular contributor to Australian Property Investor Magazine. She is a CPA, Registered Tax Agent and holds a Bachelor of Business, but her most important qualification is the unrivalled passion she has for tax law. Her enthusiasm has excited hundreds of audiences over the years.
