It is very important for you to read this page BEFORE REGISTERING for the
BAN TACS Forum

The aim of this forum

The aim of the BAN TACS Forum is to deliver relevant and correct Australian Tax information 100% of the time. Quite a challenge in the current forum environment. The first step in achieving this is that all posters must be identified as real people with particular qualifications. This does not prevent them posting in areas that are not relevant to their qualifications but allows viewers to qualify those posts. For example if a finance broker was to join the forum everything he or she posts in the loans area will be taken very seriously but he or she may also have a rental property and ask a question about repairs. That is when the tradies and accountants will have a chance to contribute and show their areas of expertise. This valuable information will just be another bonus that the broker will receive in return for being part of the forum. Of course the main bonus will be a chance to show their knowledge of the various loan products available. He or she will be able to clearly advertise themselves via their signature that will appear on every one of their posts, giving viewers contact details if they so choose.

When registering use your own name as your username: FirstName LastName
Any registration application will not be concidered without the first and last name being used as the username
Please use a space between your first and last name

Looking to win clients

We would like to think that anyone who is prepared to utilise this forum is looking to win clients on their merits and not by attacking other posters. Posts will not be censored in any way but please be aware that in every post you make you will be fully identified and your comments will be documented, so if what you say is an attack on a person and (and only and) that statement is incorrect then you can very easily be sued for slander and defamation.

Become one of the privileged posters on our forum

So how do you get to become one of the privileged posters on our forum? It is really quite simply a matter of identifying yourself as a real person and verifying your area of expertise. And everyone has an area of expertise as it does not have to be something you have formal qualifications in. It includes being a property investor, business owner, DIYer etc. As long as we can identify the area where your comments should be taken seriously and that you are really who you say you are then, you are in. If you don't want to be identified or join but do want to ask a question of the posters then contact one of the posters with your question and we will probably submit it for you.

Please go through the registration procedure, using your own name as your username, and Julia or Michelle will contact you regarding your verification. Unfortunately you will not be able to post until verification is completed, hopefully within 24 hours. You do not have to be a poster to view the forum, you only need to be identified to directly participate in the discussion.

Please e-mail julia@bantacs.com.au if you have ideas for another category for the forum.

To the accountants

To the accountants out there, please join up, this is not intended to be advertising for BAN TACS. We see much more value in open and frank discussions about the application of tax law. Ask the difficult questions, many heads are better than one. Julia has started this process by asking a question that has been challenging her. If together we can find the best outcome for any taxpayer, whether they be your client or ours then we have achieved our goal of BANning TACS.

Enjoy and network to your heart's delight.
