Fly In Fly Out Workers
If you work overseas as an employee for a continuous period of 91 days or longer and are taxed in the foreign country, you will not be subject to tax on those earnings in Australia. Though, they will have to go in the exempt income section of your tax return. The continuous period is not considered to be broken by returning to Australia on your days off if this is just part of your normal shift cycle.
Please seek advice on your particular circumstances before acting on this information.
